A team learning experience built for reflection, engagement, and real behavior change
The Challenge
A global accounting team had recently invested in the StrengthsFinder assessment but hadn’t yet translated it into a meaningful learning experience. Leadership wanted a session that would build awareness, encourage collaboration, and help team members better understand how to work together.
They asked for something engaging. Function + Form co-created something transformational.
What Function + Form Did
Function + Form partnered with an internal Business Training Specialist to design and deliver a flipped classroom workshop—an active, gamified session that brought strengths-based collaboration to life.
Our Contributions:
Designed and structured a 2-hour workshop with prework, in-session activities, and follow-up
Created all facilitation materials, reflection prompts, and team handouts
Developed a strengths-based team game using physical props, role constraints, and real-time problem-solving
Facilitated the workshop across multiple teams, tailoring each experience to unique team dynamics
Co-created a post-workshop toolkit with discussion guides and action planning templates
Why It Worked
Function + Form blended adult learning principles with team play to create a memorable, emotionally intelligent session. Participants didn’t just learn their strengths—they felt what it was like to have them blocked or supported.
By using a flipped model and embedding play into strategy, we helped employees discover how to use their strengths more intentionally—and how to support others in doing the same.
The Outcome
Full participation and engagement across departments
Immediate shifts in how employees collaborated and communicated
Managers reported that team members initiated conversations around how they could show up more effectively
Leadership praised the session as “refreshing, energizing, and deeply relevant”
