A conference session turned personal learning experience—designed to help leaders define and apply authenticity
The Challenge
At a national learning and HR event, Function + Form was invited to co-facilitate a session titled “Igniting Authentic Engagement for Innovation.” The audience included HR leaders, talent professionals, and learning strategists—many of whom were struggling to define “authenticity” in a way that felt actionable inside their organizations.
The ask was to create an engaging talk. Function + Form delivered a structured reflection experience that participants could personalize and take with them.
What Function + Form Did
Rather than present a slide-heavy lecture, we designed the session as a guided learning experience—built on the Function + Form method and adapted from our branding discovery frameworks.
Our Contributions:
Developed a live session that moved participants through reflection, discussion, and future planning
Created a Personalized Development Plan worksheet adapted from Function + Form’s brand discovery toolset
Designed the deck and visual flow to support pacing, accessibility, and interaction
Facilitated real-time conversation using warm, low-pressure engagement strategies
Modeled authentic learning design by giving attendees structure and space
Why It Worked
This wasn’t just a talk—it was a personalized, educational moment. Function + Form helped each participant reflect on their values, energy, communication preferences, and growth goals through an approachable, self-paced framework.
It gave form to a topic that often stays vague—and gave people the tools to revisit it again and again.

Participants created their own development maps, many of whom used them in follow-up coaching or reflection
